I have the Heavy Duty Walking Poles from York Nordic and could not be more pleased with them. I am 80 years old, 6’2””and 240 lbs and I deal with balance issues and a heart condition. The York Walking Poles make me feel very secure when exercise walking and have improved my balance and speed. I highly recommend these Walking Poles.

As someone with a connective tissue disorder these crutches have given me the ability to be a bit more normal and allow me to move quickly, which I haven’t been able to do in a long time.
And if you suffer from shoulder pain like I do, it does reduce that pain since the entire body isn’t taking the impact of each step.
Took a little getting used to after regular forearm crutches, but now I am very comfortable using them. They relieve some of the stress on my hands as my forearms take on the pressure. The fit is perfect. Very pleased.
Having spent weeks at a time on crutches of all kinds, the jolt from having them hit the ground are not only jarring, but painful as well. These actually not only decrease the jolting, but they're really nice at maintaining their place where you put them, without it feeling unbalanced or like they're sliding. Highly recommend.
There was a little hiccup with the cuff size when I ordered, but the customer service was so fast and kind. A cuff swap went in for me right away and I got the right size cuffs so quickly!
The fit is now truly perfect. I'm so elated to have my smart crutches!

I had been using trekking poles to walk around my neighborhood but I found them rough on my hypermobile wrists and elbows. I found these while researching options. Shipping was quick and I’ve found them fairly easy to adjust. I had stopped going places where I had to walk or stand for a long time because it was painful, but last weekend I went to dinner and a movie with friends and then I spent a few hours at museums a couple days later! I already feel like the price was worth it because I’m able to get out and feel a little more normal again.
They are bigger than normal tips and take a slight adjustment to get used to but are really solid. I lost a leg so use forearm crutches with my full weight, and many tips I have tried are 'squishy'. Some are also a really small diamteter and require a better balance. These are solid, definitely not squishy and have been really good on mutiple surfaces in the past 2 weeks, dirt, turf, grass, concrete; all felt really solid and secure.
My podiatrist and physical therapists recommend that I use two hiking poles to help me walk with a good gait and avoid twisting my ankles or falling. I really like these poles. I had trouble with regular hiking poles because I have carpal tunnel symptoms. With the thumb position for the grips on these, my wrists are in a better position. The poles are lightweight and fold easily, so they are great for travel. I just hooked the bag to my backpack when I was on planes and trains. One warning: the flip locks with screws can come out much more easily than you would expect. I lost both of mine. Fortunately, I could still use the poles although they were then a touch shorter than ideal. I am going to order replacement flip locks and try to figure out a way to be sure they won't come out.

I got these crutches after a recent groin injury and I could not be happier. My wrists and hands were hurting from the traditional crutches I got from urgent care, so I needed a quick solution. I have hEDS, so while I hope to not need these in the future, it is comforting to know that I have a reliable and comfortable option for getting around when my body needs extra support. These are sleek and pretty lightweight. I am 5'1 and can easily maneuver these. After I heal from this injury and am walking on two feet again, I look forward to using these for museums and other activities that require long standing/additional support. The investment is worth every penny!
York Nordic provided the best, thoughtful customer service I have ever encountered. I had purchased the wrong grip poles, so I emailed York Nordic, asking for advice. Lauren immediately sent me new poles while I returned and was credited for the originals.
I have used Smart Crutches for about 10 years now. They are great for limited weight bearing or if you’re like me and can’t bear weight on wrists and hands so the weight is instead shifted to the forearm which helps tremendously for chronic/long-term use! Would love to have more frame color options but it’s nice getting to decorate the cuffs!
These walking poles are exceptional. After spine surgery, and then some complications, these walking poles are a godsend. Using them encourages me to be mindful of my posture and more confident with balance while building endurance. I particularly like the contoured hand rests that enhance my comfort while gaining my stride.
These slip around too much during use. Unable to use.
I think these are incredibly comfortable! My forearm sizing fell at 9.1, and I wish I’d sized down (7.5 to 9) rather than selecting the 9.1-10 option, since it fits slightly too big and rides closer to my elbows than I would have liked! Overall pretty happy, though!
I wasn't sure about getting these but they are fantastic! Not only do they make using my crutches on uneven ground a lot easier but the cushion the impact of the crutch hitting the ground with normal use which then puts less strain on my joints which is an unexpected perk.
Thank you for my replacement gloved! I am finding that the gloves even when "clicked" in seem to be coming loose and falling to the ground. I believe this is how I lost my original glove. Do I need new poles? I'm part of the CCNW club and bought them when we joined up with your company. Thank you for your help!

Purchased to enhance my walking used them this week and they worked well
I have hypermobility which makes standing stationary difficult. Bought these by recommendation from my doctor. I was really worried that I would be uncomfortable using them. They’re great quality, super stylish (I get such a confidence boost with them) and arrived faster than expected when I ordered them! 10/10 I LOVE these and would buy them again! Very easy to get access to your hands without dropping the crutches has got to be one of the most convenient things about these.
