Very happy with the crutch although the additional padding provided for the forearm cuff does not stick very well even with using the 3m tape. I used doubles side tape. Hope it works.

Perfect Walking Pole for Bigger Adults

I'm 6'5" with big hands and also have RA and some upper back arthritis. First, these poles are an instantly more comfortable for walking than using a cane! It's easy to keep my head and back upright and the stability of the poles is really great. They weight about 5 ounces more than standard poles, and I definitely feel more stable while I'm using them. The push button height adjustment is very easy to use, too. The palm cradle gives an extra level of comfort while in use. I'm absolutely sold on these poles, and if you're over 6'4" and/or have very large hands, you'll need to try these out. You'll be impressed, too.

Perfect! The only crutches that don’t hurt

With EDS I had no idea how badly regular forearm crutches would hurt my wrists and hands. These are all I can use with both knees doing poorly and I’m so happy they exist. Thank you!! The space pattern is awesome taboot.

Fabulous crutches

I’ve been using Smart Crutches for almost 15 years and am very happy with them. Before that I used the old fashioned crutches with the gray cuffs around the top of your forearm. Smart Crutched are much more adjustable so your arms can be where you want them, horizontal, vertical or somewhere in between. The cuffs and hand grips are very comfortable. The choice of designs is fun. Customer services is fantastic!

Two is a Charm

I just bought my second crutch. I've had the first one for a couple years and it's been great. I've had to use a cane for 30+ years and the adjustable angle has been a game changer for the pain level in my elbow. (Elbow joints don't like to use a cane for that many years!) Lately I've had to use crutches on both arms to offset the impact on the one arm/elbow. After experiencing increasing pain in my other hand I decided to order another smart crutch for the other arm. It is currently eliminating the hand pain. Thanks for a great product. I would not be "walking" my 8-10k steps a day without them!

My daughter is a really skinny person so the extra padding definitely helps thank you

Great for someone tall (or with bigger hands)

Finally poles for someone taller. These things are great, super sturdy with grips that fit my hands.

Walking Tall

I love my new foldable walking poles. They are so convenient to use when out hiking. Recently brought them with me to the Berkshires; they made trekking through the snow so easy!

Love it!

It's really made my recovery easier (I broke my ankle) and I'm sure it will be useful for other mobility issues I have.

Good but not great

Don't get me wrong they're useful. They help the crutches stand up and be less likely to tip. But honestly thats all the praise I can give them. The main issue I have is that the to top magnets piece are not long enough to extend past the crutch cuff. This results in the magnets not being able to fully make contact SIGNIFICANTLY reducing their ability to stick together. The advertisements are more tame here on smart crutchs than geckos own site but you cannot carry one and support the other because without the magnets making that full contact they aren't strong enough to support the weight. Additionally (not smart crutches fault) the wrist straps gecko sells are not long enough to reach your wrists even on the smallest forearm setting, which I use. I use them every day, but I wish they were better.

Excellent crutch tips

These crutch tips make walking more comfortable and assist in stability on ramps. Love them!

game-changer

i have CRPS in my leg and need a mobile aid to get around, but i have terrible arthritis in my hands and wrists. using a cane has become impossible because of how much it hurts my hand/wrist, and i can't use a manual wheelchair for the same reason. my smartcrutch has been an absolute lifesaver. being able to adjust the forearm portion to be horizontal takes nearly all the pressure off my hand and wrist. it's not nearly as heavy as i expected it to be either. i am incredibly impressed. i can't imagine ever going back to a cane.

LOVE

People keep asking if I am paid to promote these. I love mine, I hype it up everywhere. It's significantly more supportive than a cane and a great option for when you need more support but don't want a rollator/chair!

My new baby

ive been using a cane since i was 12 (EDS) and only recently decided to take the leap and try something new to relieve the stress my cane had been putting on my wrist. now i use a single smartcrutch in a platform position and ive had it about 2 weeks now and it has been probably the best decision ive ever made. theres definitely a learning curve and its a bit heavier than my cane was, but im able to lean against it and support myself on it even standing still without knowing i might make my wrist joint slip or something.
Still getting used to the height of it, and ive been making a lot of minor adjustments each day depending on what is hurting most for me- highly recommend, great for the price as well

Shockingly Helpful

I have Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos syndrome and struggle with gaining endurance when walking daily due to poor proprioception, balance, and frequent injuries. I began using my poles nine months ago after an episode of severe fatigue and was shocked how much longer I could walk the first time with them than without them. There were days that I dreaded walking or simply didn't walk because of dizziness or fatigue, but now I know I have the support I need to keep moving and build strength and endurance. My PT loves these poles and helps me focus on proper form with the poles, so that frequent injuries that come with my condition don't get me down. Motivator is the perfect name ! Hugs and high fives to your team for creating a fabulous tool. And I love my Zebra sticker so that I can create conversations around what's working.

Smart crutch

Takes the weight off of my wrist which was what I was trying to accomplish.

Great gift!

I purchased this as a gift for my mom, who has recently been trying out nordic walking. She is thrilled, and reported that it was easy to adjust the poles to the right height. Shipping was quick and easy. Very pleased!
