This week, York Nordic introduced a new walking pole named the Motivator. The most unique feature of this new product is a patented contoured grip designed to provide better balance and stability. Aptly named, it is a walking pole designed for Nordic walking and as a stability aid for any type of walking. This revolutionary new walking pole also helps support those recovering from injury, surgery or impacted by Parkinson’s, arthritis and other issues affecting balance.

With Parkinson’s specifically in mind, we wanted to highlight a recent and incredible research announcement from The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. This past April, the Foundation announced a breakthrough in the search for a Parkinson’s biomarker, which had just been published in the scientific journal The Lancet Neurology. In short, the breakthrough will open new horizons in Parkinson’s research and in testing for diagnosis.
