York Nordic would like to recognize Balance Awareness Week.
Balance Awareness Week was launched by the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA) in 1997 and takes place the third week of September to raise awareness to vestibular conditions, including loss of balance, vertigo and dizziness. VeDA notes that the term vestibular “refers to the inner ear system that communicates with the brain to help us understand our position in space”. Most people have had some point in their life when they have felt a loss of balance and it can be incredibly unsettling. Knowing that, it is important to recognize how having to live with a vestibular condition can make one’s day to day life a challenge, which reinforces the importance of the organization’s cause.
We appreciate the difficulty that loss of balance creates and strive to provide products that can help overcome the related challenges. Our Motivator Walking Poles are specifically designed to provide additional balance and stability when walking and hiking or during the rehab process. We hope that our commitment combined with the noble efforts of organizations like VeDA help increase the quality of life to vestibular condition sufferers.
